Palacio de Montcada
The Palacio de Montcada is a large stone mansion built in the late 17th century, following the typology of Aragonese Renaissance civil architecture.
It is located next to the Arab castle and occupies part of the former residential Palace of the Lords of Montcada.
In 1986, it was rehabilitated as a Cultural Centre, housing whiting its interior the Municipal Library, an auditorium, a historical archive and exhibition rooms.
Museo Minero de Mequinenza
This museum keeps the history of coal mining in Mequinenza alive. You can explore over 170 years of mining history through various work systems with real machinery and historical images.
The mining basin extends across the provinces of Zaragoza, Huesca and Lleida. It has been exploited since the mid-19th century and constitutes one of the most im portant mining basins in Aragón.
